Title
Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to transfer $211,335.54 from the Reserve for Capital Replacement Fund to the Capital Improvement Fund for the design and installation of emergency generating systems at City Hall and other City buildings.
Body
WHEREAS, the City has an agreement with Donohue & Associates for engineering services for the design and installation of an emergency generator system at City Hall for an amount not to exceed $17,760.00; and,
WHEREAS, The Common Council accepted the proposal of Cummins NPower LLC for furnishing one 2016 Cummins 250DQDAA 250 kW, diesel driven engine generator for $58,337.00 and one 2016 ASCO Series 300 service entrance rated automatic transfer switch and life safety automatic transfer switch for $17,054.00 for a total sum of $75,391.00 all in accordance with City of West Allis RFP 1311; and,
WHEREAS, The Common Council has been requested to approve the bid of WIL-Surge Electric, Inc. for the installation of the above referenced Cummins generator and automatic transfer switch in the amount of $94,893.00; and,
WHEREAS, WE Energies also charged a fee of $8,291.54 before making modifications to the electrical service at City Hall in order to accommodate the new generator and transfer switch at City Hall; and,
WHEREAS, during the course of the work it became apparent that emergency generating systems at other City buildings may be deficient due to age and/or other factors; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council authorized the Engineering Division to amend the agreement with Donohue & Associates for an amount not to exceed $15,000 to develop a standby power master plan that would include the Health Department and Fire Stations 1, 2 & 3 and Police Headquarters and Water Division.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to transfer $211,335.54 from the Reserve for Capital Rep...
