Title

Resolution establishing annual City contribution to employee/retiree Health Savings Accounts.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis (the “City”) is offering a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) as part of its 2016-2017 health insurance plan offerings; and

WHEREAS, a qualifying HDHP allows eligible participants to establish Health Savings Accounts (HSA); and

WHEREAS, the Common Council and Mayor have endorsed a City contribution to eligible employee and retiree HSAs for the 2016-2017 plan year.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City shall contribute the following annual amounts into eligible HSA accounts:

1.                     $1,000 for an eligible family plan.

2.                     $500 for an eligible single plan.

3.                     The above-designated amounts shall be prorated based upon the employee eligibility date.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that any City contribution will be established by resolution annually at the beginning of the Plan Year.
