Resolution relative to determination of Special Use Permit to establish Western Illinois Numismatics, a proposed second hand article store, to be located at 11037 W. Oklahoma Ave.

WHEREAS, Robert and Connie Griffiths, d/b/a W.I. Numismatics/Coins and Quilts, duly filed with the City Clerk an application for a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.43(2) and Sec. 12.16 of the Revised Municipal Code, to establish a second hand article retail store within the existing commercial property located at 11037 W. Oklahoma Ave.; and,

WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on September 2, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:

1. The applicant, Robert and Connie Griffiths, d/b/a W.I. Numismatics/Coins and Quilts, currently have offices at 4633 S. 108 St., Greenfield, WI 53228.

2. The applicant proposes to lease the property at 11037 W. Oklahoma Ave. and establish a secondhand article retail store. They buy and sell collector coins, gold coins, silver coins and foreign coins. They also buy and sell United States and foreign currency. Additionally, the applicant will buy scrap gold and silver jewelry but only sell it wholesale to be melted. They also buy collectible stamps and watches and scrap sterling flatware. Finally, they sell new quilting fabrics, threads, patterns and they offer quilting services and classes.

The applicant does not take donations of any type. They will not have a drop off area.

The 4,100 sq. ft. building is located at 11037 W. Oklahoma Ave., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:
