Resolution requesting the transfer of $70,000 from the City's Contingency Fund to Fire Department Capital Account.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis always maintains a Contingency Reserve to cover the cost of unanticipated expenditures (Account No. 100-0000-371-2000); and
WHEREAS, the amount in the Contingency Reserve as of 1/1/2014 is $3.2 million; and
WHEREAS, the West Allis Fire Department (WAFD) has an acute need to rectify deficiencies in both frontline and reserve apparatus due to mechanical failures in frontline equipment forcing reserve equipment into frontline service, resulting in failures of the reserve apparatus due to the age of the equipment; and
WHEREAS, WAFD has located a 1999 Pierce Fire Engine that can be repaired and brought into service, replacing an older piece of equipment; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide additional funds to the Fire Department Capital Account 100-2201-522.70-05 to cover the cost of the engine.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $70,000 is hereby approved for transfer from the City's Contingency Fund to the Fire Department Capital Account.
