Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to increase funding for the Rain Barrel Program, with funding from the Stormwater Management Funds for an additional amount of $7,500, for providing rain barrels to participating West Allis property owners.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis (the "City") recognizes the importance of the use of Best Management Practices for managing storm water on private property; and,
 
WHEREAS, in this action the City has declared its intent to work with Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District as a retailer of rain barrels for the retention and reuse of storm water; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District will provide rain barrels to the City of West Allis at a reduced cost of $35 each; and,
 
WHEREAS, the City will provide participating West Allis property owners with a rain barrel, delivered to their property, at a cost of $18.94 ($20.00 with tax included) with an agreement, signed by the property owner, to maintain the rain barrel for a minimum of five years; and,
 
WHEREAS, the City will provide non-participating property owners with a rain barrel, to be picked up by the purchaser at the City of West Allis Department of Public Works, at a cost of $49.95; and,
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of West Allis will work with Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District as a retailer.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of West Allis will provide rain barrels to participating West Allis property owners at a reduced price.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is hereby directed and authorized to initiate the Rain Barrel Program and make minor changes to the program as needed.
