Title
Resolution approving the creation and policies of the City of West Allis Neighborhood Small Grant Program.

Body
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis, along with staff and citizens, recognize the importance of developing and maintaining healthy neighborhoods throughout the community; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis values citizen involvement and wishes to reach out to all segments of the community by supporting the formation of effective Neighborhood Associations; and,

WHEREAS, a Neighborhood Association is a group of individuals who identify with a common area and share common goals and concerns, and are organized as a member-based group open to everybody within the neighborhood; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council, under Resolution R-2014-0092 approved the creation of a Neighborhood Association Program; and,

WHEREAS, the criteria and outline of the West Allis Neighborhood Small Grants Program are hereby attached as Exhibit 1; and,

WHEREAS, the purpose of the West Allis Neighborhood Small Grants Program is to provide neighborhood associations assistance to organize and once established-resources to create and/or operate special programs or activities that make West Allis neighborhoods unique, better, and beautiful; and,

WHEREAS, the Program will be administered by the Community Development Division within the Department of Development.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City of West Allis Neighborhood Small Grant Program is hereby approved.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, Common Council and staff of the City of West Allis pledge their support and cooperation in addressing the needs of citizens of West Allis through Neighborhood Associations and the community in general.
