Title

An Ordinance to Amend Subsection 9.20(2) of the West Allis Revised Municipal Code Relating to Handbill Distribution

Body

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:

PART I.      Subsection 9.20(2) of the Revised Municipal Code is hereby amended to read:

9.20      HANDBILL DISTRIBUTION

(2)      Throwing/Distributing Handbills in Public Places.  No person shall throw or deposit any commercial or noncommercial handbill in or upon any sidewalk, street or other public place within the City; nor shall any person hand out or distribute or sell any commercial handbill in any public place, provided, however, that it shall be lawful on any sidewalk, street or other public place within the City for any person to hand out or distribute, without charge to the receiver thereof, any handbill to any person willing to accept it.

PART II.      All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

PART III.      This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
