Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works to enter into an agreement with Kamp/Synergy LLC to upgrade the Water Utility's SCADA control system at a cost of $30,600.

WHEREAS, the Water Utility's water reservoir control system is over fifteen years old; and,
WHEREAS, the control system needs to be upgraded or replaced; and,
WHEREAS, the most economical and efficient approach to this need would be the upgrade of the existing system; and,
WHEREAS, the existing system manufactured and installed by Kamp/Synergy has served the Utility well and can be upgraded at a cost of $30,600; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of replacing the existing system would exceed $250,000.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Kamp/Synergy LLC as set forth in their proposal dated March 11, 2009 and attached hereto; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the costs of all such upgrades and improvements be funded by budgeted Water Utility funds.
