Resolution approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of West Allis and Milwaukee County for the provision of a property tax billing, collection, and settlement software solution provided by GCS.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis prepares and distributes property tax bills and collects property taxes for all overlapping taxing jurisdictions; and,
WHEREAS, Milwaukee County serves as the unit of government who settles delinquent taxes with the City of West Allis and all other municipal agencies in Milwaukee County; and,
The Milwaukee County Treasurer has offered, in an attempt to have all municipal governments within Milwaukee County use the same property tax software package, reducing costs and adding efficiency and consistency across the collection process, to pay the cost of the City of West Allis to convert to GCS software and, additionally, has agreed to cover the annual maintenance costs of GCS software;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the attached MOU is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City Official(s) are hereby authorized and directed to execute this MOU on behalf of the City.
