Resolution to transfer $28,665 from the Contingency Fund to the Public Works Department's Equipment Account for the purchase of safety equipment.
Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department annually budgets for certain equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is in need of purchasing certain safety equipment to take additional steps to further protect its employees in high traffic situations; and,
WHEREAS, the safety equipment needed includes two (2) truck mounted attenuators and four (4) LED arrowboards; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department's 2006 Budget has insufficient funds to pay for such safety equipment; and,
WHEREAS, in a letter to the Common Council dated April 11,2006, the Director of Public Works requested the transfer of $28,665 from the Contingency Fund for the purchase of various pieces of safety equipment, including two (2) truck mounted attenuators and four (4) LED arrowboards; and,
WHEREAS, on April 18, 2006, both the Administration & Finance Committee and the Public Works Committee discussed and unanimously approved this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $28,665 is hereby approved for transfer from the Contingency Fund to the Public Works Department's Equipment Account for the purchase of said safety equipment.
