Title: Assessment Resolution relative to various options for paying the assessments for the improvement of W. Walker St. from S. 72 St. to S. 77 St. and portions of intersecting streets by major reconstruction of the pavement, new driveway approaches, miscellaneous sidewalk repair, storm sewer relay, sanitary sewer relay, water main, building services and utility adjustments – 2001 Project No. 1011452 – in accordance with Section 1.05(7), (8) & (9) of the Revised Municipal Code, and directing that a certified list be given to the City Clerk/Treasurer's office for those assessments to be entered upon and collected on the tax roll.

WHEREAS, The Common Council of the City of West Allis has authorized and directed that W. Walker St. from S. 72 St. to S. 77 St. and portions of intersecting streets be improved by major reconstruction of the pavement, new driveway approaches, miscellaneous sidewalk repair, storm sewer relay, sanitary sewer relay, water main, building services and utility adjustments and that the amounts of the various special assessments therefor have been determined as to each parcel of real estate affected thereby and statements of the same are on file with the City Clerk/Treasurer's office and the Board of Public Works.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the due date for payment of such assessments, without interest, is the 30th day following the billing date; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That each property owner be given the opportunity of paying the assessment against his property by one of the following methods:

1. Payment of entire assessment, or any portion thereof, without interest at any time prior to due date as noted on the billing.

2. Payment of the entire assessment with the next tax roll including a 6.0% interest charge from due date to December 31, 2004.

All assessments of $100.00 or less will automatically fall under category 1 or 2.
