Title

Resolution relative to accepting the proposal of Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. for furnishing and delivering one (1) Pierce Velocity PUC Pumper for a total net sum of  $427,443.00.

 

Body

WHEREAS, The Purchasing/Central Services Division has reported that it has received a proposal for one (1) Pierce Velocity PUC Pumper for the Fire Department of the City of West Allis; and,

 

WHEREAS, The Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. be accepted; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Equipment Division of the Public Works Department has determined that this contract is inappropriate for competitive selection due to the unique design/layout of it's body structure, which makes it more efficient in handling, fuel economy and maintenance; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Purchasing/Central Services Division of the Department of Administration & Finance has determined that due to comparables and accepting the PUC (Pierce Ultimate Configuration) design, which meets our requirements, we are able to receive a sole-source discount of $45,000.00.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated June 24, 2009 submitted by Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. for furnishing and delivering one (1) Pierce Velocity PUC Pumper for the total net sum of $427,443.00 be and is hereby accepted.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing/Central Services Division be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid equipment.
