Title
Resolution approving an Agreement between the City of West Allis and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) to receive $400,000 in funding through the MMSD Strategic Green Infrastructure Program for the installation of green infrastructure on the Six Points Connection project.

Body
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statues Section 66.0301 authorizes any municipality to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with another municipality for the furnishing of services; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis recognizes the importance of the use of Green Infrastructure for managing storm water in a sustainable manner; and,

WHEREAS, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District's (MMSD) consultant, Stormwater Solutions Engineering, LLC (SSE), has identified a variety of green infrastructure options that could be installed along S. 65th and 66th Streets as part of the Six Points Connection Project, which is planned for reconstruction in 2022, that would maximize the reduction in pollution, slow down the peak stormwater runoff flows and increase infiltration to reduce the volume entering the City's storm sewer system, and

WHEREAS, in this action the City has declared its intent to work with MMSD on this Green Infrastructure project to install pervious pavers and bioswales to capture and retain stormwater as part of the installation of the new street pavement; and,

WHEREAS, the MMSD will provide funding not to exceed $400,000 for the installation of the pervious pavement and bioswales through their Strategic Green Infrastructure Program; and,

WHEREAS, the City will maintain records documenting all expenditures made during the green infrastructure installation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a Strategic Green Infrastructure Program Funding Agreement with the MMSD for the installation of Green Infrastructure on S. 65th and 66...
