Resolution to recognize the establishment of a Strategic Plan Committee in West Allis.
 
Body
WHEREAS, West Allis is a wonderful community in which to live, work, and play; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is important to ensure we are charting a path that respects our past, improves our lives today, and moves out community forward to a prosperous future; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is wise to continually take stock of our community's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is important to clearly identify the inherent values of our community and its multiple stakeholders; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is wise to identify specific goals, objectives, and strategies that can be used to play to the strengths of our community and its stakeholders, and to move our City forward; and,
 
WHEREAS, a number of organizations have identified the need to create a value statement-a rally point for various stakeholders to consistently point their efforts to ensure resources are efficiently utilized; and,
 
WHEREAS, it has been a number of years since a strategic planning effort has been undertaken within the community.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council does hereby recognize the establishment of a Strategic Plan Committee for the purpose of creating a living document to perform these tasks.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council recognizes that the work of the Strategic Plan Committee is non-binding, carries no legal authority, and is intended to serve solely as a planning reference for policy makers and Committee participants.
