Title
Ordinance to amend Subsection 13.21(2) Definitions and to repeal and recreate Subsection 13.21(13)(b) Master Sign Program of the West Allis Revised Municipal Code relative to the Master Sign Program Application process.

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:
 
PART I. Subsection 13.21(2) of the West Allis Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby amended to read:
 
13.21 Sign Code

(2) Definitions

"Minor tenant." As part of the Master Sign Program application process, means an individual tenant space of no more than 3,000 sq. ft. and located within a portion of a multi-tenant commercial building (MTCB) of at least 100,000 sq. ft. or larger.

PART II. Subsection 13.21(13)(b) of the Sign Code of the City of West
Allis is hereby repealed and recreated to read:
 
(13) Master Sign Program.

(b) Application.
 
1. An application for a Master Sign Program must first be filed with the Department of Development. With the exception of minor tenant spaces, the Plan Commission shall review all Master Sign Program applications and proposals. The Plan Commission may approve, deny or request changes to a sign, based on the architecture of that sign.
 
2. Sign applications, that meet the definition of a minor tenant space, may be staff approved.  In such cases, the review of signage application conformance shall be limited to the minor tenant space only and not require the overall conformance of the Multi-tenant Commercial Building.

PART III. All ordinances or parts of ordinance contravening the provisions of thisordinance are hereby repealed.
 
PART IV. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
