Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis & the Community Development Authority share the mission of redevelopment of brownfield properties within the City of West Allis in order to foster tax base growth, create employment opportunities, and provide for new housing choices; and,

WHEREAS, the U.S. EPA Brownfield Grant program is a competitive grant application program to provide funds to investigate or clean-up various brownfield sites; and,

WHEREAS, under this resolution, the City of West Allis will seek U.S. EPA funds grants for $400,000 Community-wide Assessment Grant, a $200,000 Site Specific Assessment Grant for the Teledyne Site located at 52** W. Burnham St., and a $200,000 Site Specific Assessment Grant for the Milwaukee Ductile Iron site, located at 1706 and 17** S. 68 St., 67** and 66 ** W. Mitchell St., and 6771 W. National Ave.; and,

WHEREAS, match requirements of said grants would be appropriated by existing or future Tax Increment Financing Districts; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Development recommends the submittal of said grant applications to support the clean-up and investigation costs associated with the future redevelopment of the sites.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis as follows:

1. That the Director of Development, or his designee, to apply for and accept, if awarded, a U.S. EPA grant application for $400,000 Community-wide Assessment Grant, a $200,000 Site Specific Assessment Grant for the Teledyne Site located at 52** W. Burnham St., and a $200,000...
