Title

Resolution endorsing the application of Dominium Development & Acquisition, LLC, a general partner of West Allis Housing Associates, for Low-Income Housing Tax Credits for the substantial renovation of the existing Section Eight, 41-unit Westside Meadows property located at 1440-50 S. 116 St.

Body

WHEREAS, the Community Development Authority of the City of West Allis (the “Authority”) has been advised by Dominium Development & Acquisition, LLC, a general partner of West Allis Housing Associates, (the “owner”), of the Westside Meadows Apartments (the “apartments”) located at 1440-50 S. 116 St. that a major renovation of the buildings and apartments is being undertaken; and,

WHEREAS, the residents of the apartment receive rental assistance from a rent subsidy contract with HUD that will end by the end of year; and,

WHEREAS, the owner is submitting an application to the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) to receive low income housing tax credits which, if granted, allows the owner to guarantee maintenance of the apartments as affordable housing for low and moderate-income households for fifteen years; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis is committed to creating and sustaining affordable housing for low and moderate-income households in the community; and,

WHEREAS, the Community Development Authority of the City of West Allis, at its meeting on January 11, 2005, voted in favor of endorsing the application.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that it supports an affordable housing alternative for the community's low and moderate-income households.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of West Allis supports this renovation effort and urges the Wisconsin Housing. and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) to grant allocation of low-income housing tax credits to Dominium Development & Acquisition, LLC., a general partner of West Allis Housing Asso...
