Resolution relative to the contribution of $1,000 to the West Allis Charities as contributing sponsorship of the 2009 Christmas Parade.
Body
WHEREAS, the West Allis Charities has indicated it is in need of financial assistance to undertake the 2009 West Allis Christmas Parade; and,
WHEREAS, the West Allis Charities to date has been only partially successful in raising the estimated $10,000-$12,000 necessary to run said parade; and,
WHEREAS, the Christmas Parade contributes to the overall community spirit of the City of West Allis; and,
WHEREAS, a modest contribution by the City of West Allis furthers the implementing of this holiday event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $1,000 be transferred from the City's Contingency Fund to the City's Promotion/Celebrations Account (100-5002-517-3004: Other Services) for a $1,000 contribution to the West Allis Charities as a contributing sponsor of the 2009 Christmas Parade.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City states that it is not interested in organizing, running, or funding Christmas parades in the future.
