Resolution Approving an Agreement Between the City of West Allis and the State of Wisconsin to be a Qualified Presumptive Eligibility Provider

Body

WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Medicaid Program offers a program called to low-income pregnant women called Presumptive Eligibility.

 

WHEREAS, Presumptive Eligibility allows low-income pregnant women immediate access to prenatal care while their Medicaid eligibility is being processed.

 

WHEREAS, public health departments can be authorized to issue presumptive eligibility cards to low-income pregnant women.

 

WHEREAS, for a public health department to be a provider of presumptive eligibility, an agreement must be signed between the health department and the State of Wisconsin.

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that an agreement between the City of West Allis and the State of Wisconsin authorizing the West Allis Health Department to be a presumptive eligibility provider, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto and made part of hereof, is hereby approved. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of West Allis hereby authorizes and directs the City Health Commissioner to sign the aforesaid memorandum of understanding
