Resolution requesting the transfer of $10,000 from the City's Contingency Fund to the City Attorney's Legal/Litigation Account.

WHEREAS, the annual budget for the City of West Allis always includes a specified amount in the City Attorney's Office budget for legal/litigation costs (Account No. 100-0302-516-3005); and
WHEREAS, the amount budgeted for 2014 was $10,000; and
WHEREAS, the 2014 budgeted legal/litigation costs did not anticipate an Assistant City Attorney being off on maternity leave; and
WHEREAS, as a result of this maternity leave, the City Attorney's Office needs to hire outside legal assistance to handle prosecution matters; and
WHEREAS, no funds were budgeted in 2014 for said expenditure; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide additional funds to the Legal/Litigation Account to cover such costs for several months of the 2014 budget year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $10,000 is hereby approved for transfer from the City's Contingency Fund to the City Attorney's Office Budget Legal/Litigation Account (Account No. 100-0302-516-3005).
