Title

An Ordinance to Amend Subsections 3.05(1)(a)1 and 2 of the West Allis Revised Municipal Code Relating to Areas of Responsibility of the Public Works and Safety and Development Committees.

Body

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:

PART I. Subsection 3.05(1)(a)1 of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby amended to read:

3.05 RULES OF PROCEDURE FOR COMMON COUNCIL.

(1) Standing Committees.

(a) Standing Committees of the Common Council, the number of Alderpersons assigned to each Committee and the areas of basic responsibility for such Committees shall be as follows:

1. Public Works - five (5) members.
Functional Responsibilities. Sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water, claims related to sewer or water rates, streets, sidewalks, alleys, street lighting, bridges, underpasses, grades, public utilities, public works, cemeteries, railroads, garbage, rubbish, weed control, public buildings, parking utility, forestry, public grounds and parks, purchases related to the areas of responsibility set forth above, and, except as provided in 3.05(1)(a)2, the acquisition or sale of land by the City. The Public Works Committee shall exercise the duties and powers of the Board of Public Works under section 62.14 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
