Resolution relative to adopting a Social Media Policy for inclusion in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual.
Body
WHEREAS, because of the growing use of social media by the City of West Allis, it is necessary and important that a policy be in place that addresses the general standards and responsibilities for the acceptable use of social media; and
WHERES, the City of West Allis has developed a policy to address the use, administration, management, monitoring, and retention of social media and social media content; and
WHEREAS, said policy shall apply to all City of West Allis officers, departments, boards, commissions, volunteers, and employees; and
WHEREAS, it is beneficial for said policy to be included in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual; and
WHEREAS, various City staff members have reviewed said policy and recommend its approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the attached Social Media Policy be and is hereby approved for inclusion in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrative Office is authorized and directed to include such policy in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual and distribute said policy to all departments, divisions, and offices.
