An Ordinance to Repeal and Recreate Section 2.10(9) of the Revised Municipal Code Relating to City Clerk/Treasurer.

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:
PART I. Section 2.10(9) of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby repealed and recreated to read:
2.10 CITY CLERK/TREASURER.

(9) Deputies. Pursuant to section 62.09(9)(f), Wis. Stat., the City Clerk/Treasurer may appoint a Deputy Treasurer and pursuant to section 62.09(11)(i), Wis. Stat., may appoint a Deputy Clerk. The Deputy positions may be held by one person at the discretion of the City Clerk/Treasurer. The Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer shall receive compensation as the Common Council shall provide. The sureties of the City Clerk/Treasurer shall be liable on the official bond for the acts of the Deputy or Deputies. The Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer shall not be considered to be within the Deputy Service set forth in section 2.76(4)(b) and may reside within the perimeter set forth in section 2.76(6.5)(b).

PART II. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
PART III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
