Ordinance to amend Section 10.20 of the Revised Municipal Code relative to riding bicycles on sidewalks.
Body
The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:
PART I. Subsection 10.20(a) of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby amended to read:
(a) Pursuant to Sec. 346.94(1) of the Wisconsin Statutes, the operation of bicycles upon a sidewalk is permitted in the City, except in the following locations:
1. Sidewalks in the Central Business District along W. Greenfield Ave., from S. 70 St. to S. 76 St.
a. This exception shall not apply to bicycles when operated by children under the age of 12 years old.
2. The person operating a bicycle on a sidewalk shall follow all other applicable rules of the road.
PART II. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
PART III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
