Title

An Ordinance to Repeal and Recreate Section 2.76 (15)(b) of the Revised Municipal Code Relating to Employees Becoming Candidates for Public Office.

Body

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:

PART I.                     Section 2.76 (15)(b) of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis is hereby repealed and recreated to read:

2.76                     CIVIL SERVICE.

(15)                     Leave of Absence.

* * *

(b)                     Candidate for Public Office.  Classified and Unclassified employees shall be permitted to be candidates for public office.  Campaign work by City employees is prohibited during working hours and City resources shall not be used for campaign work purposes.

PART II.                     All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this

ordinance are hereby repealed.

PART III.                     This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
