Title
Resolution requesting the transfer of $45,000 from the City's Reserve for Productivity/Operational Improvements to Police Department Capital Account for Construction of a Police Training Facility.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis has established a Reserve for Productivity/Operational Improvements to cover the cost of Productivity and Operational Initiatives (Account No. 100-0000-345.13-00); and
 
WHEREAS, the amount in the Reserve for Productivity/Operational Improvements as of January 1, 2015 is $289,000; and
 
WHEREAS, the West Allis Police Department (WAPD) has researched, designed, and presented site plans and information relative to the construction of the Training Facility; and
 
WHEREAS the concept and design of the Training Facility has been approved by the Police & Fire Commission and the Plan Commission; and
 
WHEREAS, WAPD estimates the total cost of the construction and retrofitting of the facility to be approximately $175,000; and
 
WHEREAS, WAPD is committing funds from its Federal Equitable Sharing Account No. 214-0801-521-64.05 in the amount of $40,000 and has received a carryover of unspent 2014 budgeted funds in the amount of $90,000.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $45,000 is hereby approved for transfer from the City's Reserve for Productivity/Operational Improvements to the Police Department Capital Account for the purpose of constructing a Police Training Facility.
