Resolution relative to determination of Special Use Permit for Leadership, Literacy and Technology Development Center, a proposed childcare center, to be located at 9243 W. National Ave.

WHEREAS, Tameeka Ross, d/b/a Leadership, Literacy and Technology Development Center, duly filed with the City Administrative Officer, Clerk/Treasurer an application for a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.16 and Sec. 12.41(2) of the Revised Municipal Code, to establish a daycare/educational institution facility within the existing mixed use building located at 9243 W. National Ave.; and,

WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on December 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:

1. The applicant, Tameeka Ross, d/b/a Leadership, Literacy and Technology Development Center, will have offices at 9243 W. National Ave. West Allis, WI 53227.

2. The applicant proposes to lease the subject property at 9243 W. National Ave., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows:

All the land of the owner being located in the Southeast ΒΌ of Section 5, Township 6 North, Range 21 East, in the City of West Allis, Milwaukee County, State of Wisconsin, described as follows:

Lot 8 in Block 7 of the McGeoch Highlands subdivision.

3. The applicant proposes to lease the commercial portion of the existing mixed-use building for the use of a daycare. The daycare is expecting to supervise up to 18 children per shift, ages six (6) weeks - 12 years. Up to three (3) daycare workers will be employed per shift.

4. The aforesaid premises is zoned C-2 Neighborhood Commercial District under the zoning ordinance of the City of West Allis, which permits daycares and educational inst...
