Title

Resolution relative to adopting two new policies for inclusion in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual relative to (1) recruitment, selection, appointment and confirmation for City Officials and Department Heads, and (2) disciplinary action for City Officials and Department Heads appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City has developed two policies relative to the recruitment, selection, appointment, confirmation, and disciplinary action for City Officials and Department Heads appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council; and,

 

WHEREAS, said policy shall be applicable to all City Departments, except the Police Department, Fire Department, and Library; and,

 

WHEREAS, these two policies were never previously adopted for inclusion in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is beneficial to implement these two policies to specify procedures to be followed in regard to these two matters and include them in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual; and,

 

WHEREAS, these two procedures have been prepared, reviewed, and recommended by the Mayor, City Attorney, City Administrative Officer, and Human Resources Manager.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the attached two policies be and are hereby approved for inclusion in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrative Officer is authorized and directed to include these two policies in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual and distribute said policies to all departments, divisions, and offices.
