Resolution to transfer $126,500 from the Contingency Fund to the Public Works Department's Equipment Account for the early purchase of the two 2007 heavy-duty tandem dump truck chassis.
Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department annually budgets for the replacement of its equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is scheduled to replace two heavy-duty tandem dump trucks in both 2006 and 2007; and,
WHEREAS, a significant savings can be realized by purchasing the two 2007 trucks at the same time as the 2006 trucks; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department's 2006 Budget has insufficient funds to pay for all four trucks; and,
WHEREAS, in a letter to the Common Council dated April18, 2006, the Director of Public Works requested the transfer of $126,500 from the Contingency Fund for the purpose of two tandem truck chassis that were scheduled for replacement in 2007; and,
WHEREAS, on April 18, 2006, both the Administration & Finance Committee and the Public Works Committee unanimously agreed with this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $126,500 is hereby approved for transfer from the Contingency Fund to the Public Works Department's Equipment Account for the early purchase of the two 2007 heavy-duty tandem dump truck chassis.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this $126,500 transfer shall be paid back to the Contingency Fund by the Public Works Department's 2007 Equipment Account.
