Resolution relative to accepting  the proposal of Graef for providing Bridge Inspection Services and Bridge Design Engineering Consulting Services for a total sum of $29,081.42.

Body

WHEREAS, The Federal Highway Administration and Wisconsin Department of Transportation have implemented complex new bridge inspection and reporting procedures which preclude this task being completed by City staff as was previously done; and,

WHEREAS, The City of West Allis Engineering Department has identified two bridges needing immediate maintenance to their deck surfaces in order to postpone their costly replacement; and,

WHEREAS, The Purchasing/Central Services Division has reported that it duly advertised a request for proposal for Bridge Inspection Services and Bridge Design Engineering Consulting Services for the Engineering Department of the City of West Allis, that the proposals received as shown on the attached bid report were reasonable; and,

WHEREAS, subsequent to the evaluation team rating the firms, the team unanimously recommended that the contract be awarded to the best qualified firm with the lowest bid price, Graef.

WHEREAS, The Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Graef be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated May 2, 2014 submitted by Graef for furnishing Bridge Inspection Services and Bridge Design Engineering Consulting Services for a total sum of $29,081.42 in accordance with City of West Allis RFP #1233 be and is hereby accepted.
