Resolution Relative to recommending appointment of Eric Euteneier to the vacant Alderperson position in Aldermanic District 2.
Body
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Alderperson, District 2 due to the resignation of Alderperson Cathleen Probst, effective March 31, 2018, whose term would have expired on the third Monday in April, 2020; and,
WHEREAS, using its statutory authority, the Common Council decided that the Alderperson position in Aldermanic District 2 will be filled through interview & recommendation by the Advisory Committee and appointment by majority vote of the Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Advisory Committee accepted applications which resulted in nine citizens applying for the vacant position and subsequently interviewed all candidates; and,
WHEREAS, the Advisory Committee deliberated on the candidates and selected Eric Euteneier as the candidate to recommend appointment to the Common Council based on his overall background, experience, community involvement, application and interview.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Eric Euteneier is appointed to fill the vacancy of the position of District 2 Alderperson, until the election in April 2019; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Common Council formally expresses thanks and gratitude to all nine of the candidates who participated in the selection process and directs staff to send letters to the candidates advising them of such and providing information on all of the city committees in which citizens may become involved.
