Title

Resolution to endorse City Hall Art Gallery Public Use Policy.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis has renovated the space beneath Council Chambers from a storage area to an open space meeting room overlooking the Courtyard; and

WHEREAS, the intention of including this meeting room was to increase the availability of the space available within the City for groups with a public interest or purpose to meet; and

WHEREAS, the City has received requests from outside groups interested in using the space for meetings; and

WHEREAS, the City recognizes the desirability of the Art Gallery due to its proximity to downtown businesses and open space with adjacent landscaped courtyard; and

WHEREAS, the City encourages activities in the Art Gallery to increase the positive image of West Allis and assist in completion of Strategic Plan Goal #1 of Image/Brand/Destination.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City West Allis shall establish the proposed Art Gallery Meeting Room Policy (attached).
