Title
Resolution authorizing the purchase of three 2018 AWD Ford Utility Interceptor SUVs from Ewald Automotive Group, and associated ancillary items, such as light bars, sirens, etc. from various vendors for a sum not to exceed $110,000.00, and authorizing a budget transfer of $110,000.00, to facilitate the purchase, from the West Allis Fire Department's salary account into its vehicle account.

Body
WHEREAS, Ewald Automotive Group, the State of Wisconsin contract holder, has provided pricing for 2018 emergency equipped vehicles, and the cost for one replacement vehicle with safety lighting and accessories is approximately $35,000.00 per vehicle; and

WHEREAS, the West Allis Fire Department will be replacing a 2001 Chevrolet Astro minivan, a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, and a 2004 Chevrolet Impala; and

WHEREAS, the purchase of the vehicles was not identified in the 2017 Budget Fire Department; however, the Fire Department has unused 2017 budget funds well in excess of $110,000, due to numerous staff vacancies, which can be transferred from the Fire Department's salary account to the Fire Department's vehicle account; and

WHEREAS, the Police and Fire Commission approved the purchase of these vehicles and the needed accessories at its meeting on September 21, 2017.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated September 14, 2017, submitted by Ewald Automotive Group for furnishing and delivering three (3) 2018 AWD Ford Utility Interceptor (Explorer) SUV's for $27,461.00 each and, in addition, approximately $7,100.00 per vehicle for various safety lighting and accessories, will be ordered for a total net sum not to exceed $110,000.00, be and is hereby accepted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a budget transfer from unused salary funds, Account No. 100-2201-522.11-01, to equipment funds, Account No. 100-2201-522.70-02, be and is hereby authorized, and the purchase will be charged to Account No. 100-22...
