Resolution to rescind Resolution No. R-2005-0037 and to adopt updated Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Long Range Goals for 2008-2012 for the City of West Allis.
Body
WHEREAS, Resolution No. R-2005-0037 pertaining to the City's updated Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Long Range Goals for 2004-2008, was adopted and approved on March 15, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of West Allis, every four (4) years after a new Council is elected, reviews and updates its Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Long Range Goals; and,
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis desires to continue to set forth a mission statement of what it plans to accomplish to reach its proposed destination; and,
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis wishes to continue to present a vision statement to set forth its view of what it wants the City to be like in the future; and,
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis desires to continue to also adopt long range goals that describe certain strategies to accomplish the stated mission; and,
WHEREAS, such mission statement, vision statement, and long range goals state the City's official statement of purpose that can build citizen support, provide direction and focus, encourage efficiency, promote cooperation, and improve productivity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Resolution No. R-2005-0037, dated March 15, 2005, is hereby rescinded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the attached, updated City of West Allis Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and revised Long Range Goals for 2008-2012 be and are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to prepare an official document and testimonial for the public display of said Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Long Range Goals for 2008-2012.
