Title

Resolution to Transfer $94,500 from the Contingency Fund to the Police Department Automotive Account for Advance Purchase of New Squad Cars and the Refurbishing of Used Cars.

Body

WHEREAS, the Police Department annually budgets for the purchase of new squad cars; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council has approved the 2006 Budget, which included five (5) marked new police squad cars; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to do an advance purchase yet this year to order the vehicles now, thus avoiding a long delay in the manufacturing and delivery.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $94,500 is hereby approved for transfer from the Contingency Fund to the Police Department's Automotive Account (100-2101-521-70-02) for the purchase of the five (5) new police squad cars.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2006 Police Department's Automotive Budget Account shall reimburse the Contingency Fund next year.
