Resolution of Recognition of the Orchard Hills Neighborhood Association.

Body
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis, along with its staff and citizens, recognize the importance of developing and maintaining healthy neighborhoods throughout the community; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis values citizen involvement and engagement, and wishes to reach out to all segments of the community by supporting the formation of effective neighborhood associations; and,

WHEREAS, the Orchard Hills Neighborhood Association ("OHNA") has been properly organized by residents of the City of West Allis in order to promote and sustain at all times the highest standards in preservation of their neighborhood, and address the issues of safety, social engagement, and neighborhood improvements within its designated boundaries; and,

WHEREAS, the OHNA will serve residents in its area extending to Oklahoma Avenue on the North, to Morgan Avenue on the South, to 124th Street on the West and East to Root River Parkway, further described in the attached Boundaries; and,

WHEREAS, the OHNA and its membership is inclusive to all residents of the neighborhood; and,

WHEREAS, on April 29th, 2015, OHNA held a properly-announced meeting at Hoover Elementary School, adopted the bylaws of the association, and elected a Board of Directors; and,

WHEREAS, the OHNA is fully formed and officially recognized under the neighborhood association guidelines that were adopted by the City of West Allis in April of 2014.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of West Allis, whose Mayor and Common Council are herein assembled, officially recognizes the OHNA.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, Common Council and staff of the City of West Allis hereby pledge their support and cooperation in addressing the needs of the citizens of this neighborhood in particular and the community in general.
