Resolution relative to accepting the proposals of North American Salt Co. and Cargill for furnishing and delivering 8,400 tons of deicing road salt for a total sum of $251,576.00.
Body
WHEREAS, The Purchasing/Central Services Division has reported that it has received a joint purchase proposal through The State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for furnishing and delivering deicing road salt for the 2005-2006 winter season for the Public Works Department of the City of West Allis, that the proposals received were reasonable; and,
WHEREAS, The Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposals of North American Salt Co. and Cargill be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal submitted by North American Salt Co. for 2,000 tons early fill at $29.02/ton and the proposal submitted by Cargill for 3,600 tons seasonal fill and 2,800 tons reserve fill at $30.24/ton for a total net sum of $251,576.00 in accordance with Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation Bid #259229 be and is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing/Central Services Division be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid material.
