Resolution authorizing change of the polling place for the Eleventh Ward of the Second Aldermanic District from Jefferson Fieldhouse to Jefferson School.
Body
WHEREAS, Jefferson Fieldhouse is the current voting location for Ward 11 of the Second Aldermanic District following a polling place change in July 2004; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson Fieldhouse is confining during busier elections; and,
WHEREAS, the Principal at Jefferson Elementary School encourages and recommends use of the School's multi-purpose room for voting; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson School offers increased polling place accessibility and accommodations; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson School is already used for voting by electors in Ward 12 and can be utilized as a voting place for two wards with minimal preparation and effort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the polling place for the Eleventh Ward of the Second Aldermanic District shall be changed from Jefferson Fieldhouse at 7320 West Grant Street to Jefferson School at 7229 West Becher Street, and said location is hereby designated as the polling place for the Eleventh Ward of the Second Aldermanic District, effective with the November 4, 2008 election.
