Resolution to transfer $89,000 from the Contingency Fund to replace a refuse packer truck damaged in an accident, with repayment in 2008.

WHEREAS, one of the Department's refuse packer trucks was involved in an accident that resulted in substantial damage to the eleven-year-old vehicle; and,
WHEREAS, due to its eleven-year age, the cost of repairing the vehicle would be far in excess of its current value; and,
WHEREAS, $54,000 has been budgeted in the 2008 budget for the purchase of a replacement vehicle with the balance of $101,000 to come from DNR Recycling Efficiency Grant funds that the Department has received ($66,000) and is expected to receive ($35,000) in 2008; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $89,000 is hereby approved to be transferred from the Contingency Fund to the Department's Equipment Acquisition Fund with the money to be paid back to the contingency fund in 2008 from budgeted funds and the referenced REI grant.
