Resolution Relative to Revising the Family and Medical Leave Act Policy for Inclusion in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual.

WHEREAS, Policy No. 1448, Family and Medical Leave Act Policy, was originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual on September 21, 1993, and revised on May 18, 2004, April 27, 2009 and September 4, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to revise said policy at this time, as required by the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act, which includes provisions that expand the military leave entitlements of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Policy No. 1448, Family and Medical Leave Act Policy, be approved as presented in the attached restatement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrative Officer, Clerk/Treasurer is authorized and directed to include Policy No. 1448 in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual and distribute said policy to all departments, divisions and offices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, with respect to any future revisions of said policy as required by state and/or federal law, the City Attorney is hereafter authorized and directed to make such revisions and submit the revised policy to the City Administrative Officer, Clerk/Treasurer, for inclusion in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual and distribution to all departments, divisions and offices.
