Resolution Relative to Amending Section 11.18(13) of the West Allis Revised Municipal Code Regarding Suspending Block Party Fees.
Body
WHEREAS, Revised Municipal Code Section 11.18(13) requires that a $25.00 application fee shall be paid to the City Treasurer for a block party permit; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council wishes to foster close-knit residential neighborhoods with a strong sense of community ownership and belonging; and
WHEREAS, block parties promote the afore stated goals as well as promote lines of communication and comradery within residential neighborhoods,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for the remainder of 2012, each block within the City of West Allis shall be entitled to one free block party without paying the fee required by Section 11.18(13) of the Revised Municipal Code. It shall be up to the Public Works Director to determine what constitutes a "block" for purposes of this Resolution and any given application.
BE IT FURTER RESOLVED that all other rules and regulations relating to block parties shall remain in effect.
