Resolution relative to the transfer of $23,500 from the Contingency Fund to the City Attorney's Office Salary Account ($19,000) and the Fringe Benefits Account ($4,500) to increase the Assistant City Attorney III (Labor) from .8FTE to FT.

WHEREAS, the Assistant City Attorney III (Labor) is currently budgeted at .8 FTE; and,
WHEREAS, there is an ever increasing demand of numerous federal and state employment laws and anti-discrimination laws on said position; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase said position to full time to adequately respond to this increasing demand; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council, at its meeting on May 6, 2008, approved the City Attorney's request for this increased status in this regard; and,
WHEREAS, the added funding necessary to pay for this status increase had not been previously budgeted in the proper City accounts in the 2008 approved City budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $23,500 is hereby authorized to be transferred from the City's Contingency Fund in the amount of $19,000 to the City Attorney's Office Salary Account and $4,500 to the City's Fringe Benefit Account for the increase in the Assistant City Attorney III (Labor) from .8 FTE to FT.
