Resolution establishing a Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee to guide the City's Comprehensive Plan update process.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis is beginning the process of preparing a Comprehensive Plan under the authority and procedures established by Sec. 66.1001, Wisconsin Statutes; and,
 
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis believes that regular meaningful involvement in the Comprehensive Plan process is important to assure that the resulting plan meets the goals and objectives of the City and its citizens.  Prior to adoption, the plan will go through a formal public hearing and review process before the Plan Commission and Common Council; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee will consist of members representing a broad spectrum of community interests.  It is recommended that the Steering Committee include representation that may include, but is not limited to the following appointments:  Citizen representatives, members of the business community, members of the Plan Commission, Community Development Authority (CDA), School District and Common Council.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City of West Allis Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee be and is hereby established for the purpose of guiding the City's Comprehensive Plan update process.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the members of the Committee, as necessary, shall be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Common Council.
