Title

Resolution approving the fees for Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance service, effective January 1, 2018.

Body

WHEREAS, Section 5.03(7)(a) of the City of West Allis Revised Municipal Code authorizes a fee to be charged whenever an ambulance of the City of West Allis shall convey a person; and

WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has worked with the City’s ambulance billing provider (Life Quest Services) to review and analyze the City’s BLS fees in comparison to other Milwaukee County municipalities as well as comparable communities throughout the state; and

WHEREAS, the fees for Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance service are recommended as follows:                    

Service - 2018 Fee

BLS Service with Ambulance Transport-Resident (per conveyance) - $720.00

BLS Service with Ambulance Transport-Non-Resident (per conveyance) - $877.00

Mileage Rate (per mile for transport)-Resident - $21.00

Mileage Rate (per mile for transport)-Non-Resident - $21.00

Oxygen and Supplies - $97.56

Spinal Immobilization - $162.18

Gloves/EMT - $2.00

BLS Service and/or Treatment without Transport-Resident - $13.21

BLS Service and/or Treatment without Transport-Non-Resident - $200.00

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Basic Life Support ambulance fees are hereby adopted effective January 1, 2018.
