Resolution to approve bids and related costs for remodeling Fire Station No. 2, 2040 South 67th Place in the amount of $2,872,950.

Body

WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works reports that it duly advertised for bids for the furnishing of certain materials and the performance of all work required for the improvements in a certain area as hereinafter described; that the bids received as shown on the attached bid report were reasonable and hereby recommends and deems it to be for the best interests of the City of West Allis that the bids from Tri-North Builders, Waukesha, Wisconsin for 2005 Project No. 3 be accepted.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the bids from

 

Tri-North Builders for 2005 Projects No.3:

 

For Remodeling of Fire Station No. 2 at 2040 South 67th Place into a new modern facility

 

and related costs for total sum of Two Million Eight Hundred & Seventy- Two Thousand and Nine Hundred & fifty Dollars ($2,872,950) outlined as follows:

 

General Construction Costs (Tri-North Bid)                     $2,659,000

Contingency; Allowances for Owner Costs; and

 Equipment and Appliances                                                $213,950

 

be accepted and approved, and the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to enter into contractual relations with said contractor for the performance of said work, in accordance with the prices submitted in their proposal and with the specifications of the City of West Allis and make other related purchases to successfully complete the project, and that all other bids received for same be rejected; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That said improvements be installed with funding by We Energies Settlement Fund.
