Resolution relative to the transfer of $14,057 from the Contingency Fund to the Public Works budget for purchase of backup generator for the Police Department.
Body
WHEREAS, the Police Department has experienced power failures periodically; and,
WHEREAS, the backup generator has failed to start resulting in limited ability for the Police Department and Dispatch Center to function completely and effectively; and,
WHEREAS, WE Energies and the Public Works Electrical Division have made repairs that may solve the generator starting problem; and,
WHEREAS, it is still prudent to have a backup generator for the Police Department and Dispatch Center to function completely and effectively to ensure emergency safety response; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has secured a backup replacement generator that will either be yet installed at the Police Department or kept as a general backup; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department had no budgeted funds in 2008 for this acquisition and therefore needs funds to be made available for payment of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $14,057 be transferred from the Contingency Fund to the Public Works Account 100-4501-533.44-03 for the purpose of covering the procurement of the backup generator for the Police Court Center.
