Resolution authorizing and directing staff to proceed with the preparation of plans and specifications and accept bids for the construction of a Skate Park to be located at Radtke Park at 16** S. 84 St.
Body
WHEREAS the Community Development Block Grant Program Committee has recommended approval of the project and approved funding for the project in 2010 and 2011;
WHEREAS, the City has contracted with Spohn Ranch, Inc. to design and develop a Skate Park in West Allis;
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held on October 2, 2012 to discuss Skate Park location opportunities and site selection criteria, and;
WHEREAS, the Department of Development has recommended that the Skate Park be located at the northeast corner of S. 84th and W. National Ave., commonly known as Radtke Park, based on its available and un-programmed space, central location, and non-conflicting abutting land uses; and,
WHEREAS, it is proposed to improve the park as hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis:
1. In the judgment of the Common Council it is in the best interests of the City that Radtke Park be improved with a Skate Park feature and miscellaneous walk repair, miscellaneous driveway repair, building services and utility adjustments.
2. The Director of Public Works/City Engineer is hereby directed to:
a. Prepare preliminary plans and specifications for said improvements;
b. Prepare an estimate of the entire cost of the proposed improvements; and,
c. Advertise and accept bids for said improvements.
