Title

Resolution authorizing staff to petition the Public Service Commission for a Simplified Rate Increase.

Body

WHEREAS, the rates presently charged to its customers by the West Allis Water Utility are insufficient and inadequate to carry on the Utility’s operation at a reasonable and prudent level, and:

                     WHEREAS, the West Allis Municipal Water Utility is able to file a Simplified Rate Case to automatically increase the rate by 3%, and:

                     WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of West Allis and its Water Public Utility that prompt application be made to the Public Service Commission for a Simplified Rate increase in the rates of the West Allis Water utility.

                     NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED that the Finance Manager/Comptroller be and is hereby authorized and directed to file an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin for a Simplified Rate increase in the water rates for the City of West Allis to provide those reasonable rates which are permitted by law on existing facts for a reasonable rate of return on investment.
