Resolution relative to approval of the project activities proposed for the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) totaling $576,200 awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Body
WHEREAS, on March 26, 2009 the U.S. Department of Energy announced a funding opportunity which allocated $576,200 to the City of West Allis; and,
WHEREAS, on May 5, 2009, through Resolution No. R-2009-0128, the Common Council authorized the Mayor or his designee to issue a Request for Proposals to select a consulting firm to assist with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) application; and,
WHEREAS, on June 2, 2009, through Resolution No. R-2009-0143, the Common Council authorized the City of West Allis to prepare and file an application for EECBG funds; and,
WHEREAS, on April 30, 2010, the U.S. Department of Energy announced that the City of West Allis was awarded $576,200 in EECBG funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City's consulting firm performed audits of City Hall and the Senior Center, and received estimates for the attached (Exhibit A) recommended projects to utilize the $576,200 of EECBG funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that it does approve and authorize the City to implement the project activities proposed for the EECBG award herein described in Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor or his designee is authorized to make substantive changes to these project activities so as to not delay the implementation of the project.
