Resolution stating the City of West Allis' position of opposition to the use of federal, state, county, or city funding or taxation for the proposed electric bus plan for the Milwaukee County area.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Milwaukee Connection Study Committee is proposing a transit connection system of guided electric buses to link downtown Milwaukee to key origin/ destination locations in the Milwaukee County area; and,
 
WHEREAS, said proposed connection system of guided electric buses is estimated to cost $300 million; and,
 
WHEREAS, approximately $91 million in federal funding is available, leaving another $152 million in federal funding and $57 in local funding to be yet raised for the proposed connection system of guided electric buses; and,
 
WHEREAS, federal, state, county, and city financial resources are limited and would therefore be difficult to be made available to fund this proposed connection system of guided electric buses.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City hereby states its position of opposition to the use of any federal, state, county, or city funding or taxation for the proposed connection system of guided electric buses.
